It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of one of our longest serving Representatives, Atarah Ben-Tovim who passed away last week.

We were honoured when she became our Representative for Bordeaux in 1989 and through her immense musical talent, warm personality and gift for working with people, both young and old, she helped to make sure that the exam experience was a positive and memorable one.      

Atarah organised and hosted Practical Grade and Music Theory exams for thousands of candidates during her 33 years as our Representative. She also planned and hosted a number of High Scorers’ Concerts which were always highly anticipated in her region, celebrating the highest achieving candidates.

Atarah is a great loss both to our organisation and to the global musical community. Her contribution to music and the arts during her lifetime cannot be understated.
